YMCA Nelson has a fantastic team of over 65 staff providing a variety of programmes to the Nelson/Tasman community. YMCA provides national training programmes as part of our committment to encouraging best practice and high quality service.

Executive Director


Ron Kjestrup

Ron Kjestrup is the Executive Director of YMCA Nelson. He has a background in not for profit management, the media and arts. Ron has a passion for community development and works to link YMCA with other organisations to better serve the Nelson Tasman community.

 

BRYAN

Foundation Skills Tutor (Pathways)

 
Bryan Walker

Bryan is the youth tutor and education manager at YMCA Nelson. He has a background in education and working in the government sector. He has been involved in youth training for the past 10 years. Bryan is commited to ensuring young people achieve to the best of their ability.

Oscar Manager


Marty Grant

Marty Grant is the Manager of the Y-OSCAR programmes at YMCA Nelson. His international sporting and coaching career has allowed him to work in an with communities in all parts of the world. He has experience in marketing, management and youth development.

YKIDS Early Learning Centre Manager

Paula is the Ykids Manager.

 
  

Foundation Skills Tutor (Horizons)
 

Tremain Mikaere

Tremain has a background in security which he uses in his teaching leadership on Horizons. Tremain enjoys being involved within the community and helping students achieve their best during their study and into employment.

Assistant Oscar Co-ordinator


Lilly O'Sullivan

Lilly is the assistant Oscar Co-ordinator, her background consists of a Bachelor's Degree in physical education and marketing from Otago University. Lilly has a passion for promoting community and physical activity and health.

YKIDS Admin Manager


Amber Turton

Amber has had experience in business banking and retail. She has trained in fashion and design. Amber has a commitment to the well being of parents, staff and children at Ykids.

Patsy Burke

Patsy has an extensive background in Hospitality Management and Tourism. She has skills in communications and pastoral care and a passion for the creative and performing arts. Patsy is committed to building and strengthening relationships with local business and community organisations so as to best serve her clients.

Business Manager


Allan Kneale

Allan Kneale is the business manager of YMCA Nelson. His background is in banking, finance and management. Allan strives to achieve high professional standards in all areas of business and associated relationships.

 

Kerry

Youth Tutor & Service Provider


Kerry Fleming

Kerry is the Youth Tutor and Service Provider at YMCA Nelson. She has had training and experience in Adult Education and Adventure Tourism. Kerry takes a holistic approach to education and fosters learners to achieve their best possible results through support and encouragement.
