OSCAR
 
YMCA Nelson is one of the main providers of OSCAR After School and Holiday programmes in Nelson. We provide quality care for 5-13 year olds with well trained and dedicated staff facilitating the programmes.

Our programmes are OSCAR and CYF certified. Subsidies are available through Work and Income for Working families. For more information about subsidies follow the link www.workandincome.govt.nz or call 0800 774 004.
All programmes offer a variety of quality experiences for children to take part in including, community excursions, sports, arts and crafts, games. Nutritious morning/afternoon teas are also provided.
 
YMCA OSCAR After School Care Venues
Central Nelson
Located at 193 Bridge St (rear of Baptist Church). Walking bus from Central School and St Joseph’s School.  Van pick up from Clifton Terrace School and Hampden Street Primary School
Hours: 3pm to 6pm daily
Cost: $9.50 (3pm – 5pm), $13.00 (3pm – 6pm), $60 full week (3pm – 6pm)
 
Victory Primary School
Located in a classroom at the rear of the school. 
Hours: 3pm to 6pm daily.
Cost: $9.50 (3pm – 5pm), $13.00 (3pm – 6pm), $60 full week (3pm – 6pm)
 
Nayland Primary School
Located in Room 18 at Nayland Primary School.  Children from Broadgreen Intermediate and other local schools may also attend. 
Hours: 3pm to 6pm daily
Cost: $9.50 (3pm – 4.30pm), $13.00 (3pm – 5.30pm), $60 full week (3pm – 5.30pm)
 
Brightwater Primary School
Located in the Brightwater School hall.  Van pick up from Hope School and Wakefield School.
Hours: 3pm to 6pm daily.

Tahunanui Primary School
Located in the Moana Room
Hours: 3pm to 6pm daily.

YMCA OSCAR Holiday Programmes
YMCA run full time care every school holiday period (excl public holidays).  These programmes are very popular and are packed with a wide variety of activities, offering children the opportunity to try new things and develop their skill base whilst enjoying their leisure time. The programmes are well staffed with a minimum of 1 staff member to 10 children and increased staffing on outings.  You can download enrolment forms and a copy of upcoming holiday programmes below.  Please ensure you select the correct venue that you would like your child to attend.  Enrollments for holidays open approximately 4 weeks before the holidays start and the new activity planner will be posted at this time.
